Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a journalist for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career with KYW Radio and TV as the Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP), which was based in Washington DC. Then, she became a Washington general correspondent to NBC News two years later. The year 1980 marked the beginning of her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. Mitchell was named chief White House correspondent by NBC News in the year 1992. Mitchell has appeared as a host and panelist in the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell joined the panel during 1988's presidential debates, in which George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism at The John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell for her work in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering for the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's terms as President. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news reports, including arm control, the budget tax and the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also attended various summits while in the company of President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
